So from most of my experiences, getting a two year old to sleep can be quite the task. Although I’ve heard stories of how easily some other children go to sleep, it’s hard to believe sometimes! I’ve heard lot’s of stories about laying the child in the crib or bed and once the parent walks out the child falls asleep right away.. but I’ve also heard about that child having some difficult times falling asleep also. It really all depends on how one goes about the whole process.
Anyways, after more thought on the topic, I really think it can be easy to put any child to sleep as long as you know that child well and are in charge of their schedule. The schedule should start at an early age and should be stuck to. If a two year old is napping too much during the day and they are not tired at night then that could be one of the reasons they are not ready to sleep. Other reasons could be that they don’t go to sleep at the same time every night, they are hungry or their bed time environment is not always the same. Once you are aware of what the problem is it can be easily fixed most of the time.
As long as my daughter has enough awake hours she is not usually that hard to put to sleep, she can just be a little fidgety at first. If she wakes up way earlier than shes used to though, then she’s usually ready to pass out way before her bedtime. Another tiny problem is that she likes to wake up during the night.. she does go right back to sleep but usually wants a drink first. I am not quite sure about what to do to get her to not want to wake up for that drink but I’m sure that will fix itself in time.
