So at my postpartum check up a few weeks ago everything went ok. They asked a bunch of questions and if I wanted birth control. I’ve never taken any before but I decided to try the pill out. He prescribed me Yaz and said that it’s pretty good.
I’ve done my own research on it and seen that lots of people actually do like it.. not only does it prevent pregnancy but it is supposed to be good for helping get rid of acne and it is also a diuretic so you can shed a few pounds on it, instead of gaining a few pounds as you would on something different. It does depend on the person though. I know that the shot form of birth control DOES make you gain weight. Yaz is also the only pill proven to treat severe physical and emotional premenstrual symptoms.
The only thing i don’t really like about it is that it makes potassium levels build up, so you should not take any potassium supplements and certain other pain relievers and other things that also raise potassium levels. I haven’t really had many side effects so far. The only thing I really had was a bad headache like 2 days after I started. I haven’t had that anymore and I’ve been taking them for almost 3 weeks now. So, hopefully everything goes ok with this pill and I don’t have any problems.
