6 Month Baby Check Up

Posted by: Fallon

March 24th, 2008 >> Children

Thomas went for his 6 month check up this morning and is growing excellently still. He is about 27 inches long and 18 pounds 7 ounces. He didn’t get as many shots as last time but there were a few. He got his last of the oral rota virus one, another one plus the flu shot. It is getting towards the end of flu season but babies cannot get the flu shot until they are 6 months.. and they also need two doses the first time that they get it so we have to take him back in a month for his second one. The doctor said it does not hurt to get it this late in the season. Then his next check up is at 9 months.

Everyone is always in awe when they see him, saying he’s so cute and that they love his blue eyes. Amanda’s grandma even said that he was so cute he could be a baby model lol She is always telling me what a beautiful family I have though.

Easter

Our Easter went pretty well, although it was a very long and hot day. I woke everyone up early so that the kids could come down and get their baskets. Between what me and my grandma got them they got a bunch of really cute things. We headed off to my dad’s around 12:30 or 1 but I forgot something so we had to turn around and come back when we were like a street away from his house. Luckily we don’t live that far from each other!

Brielle played outside and colored, played with some of the new things she got and overall had a pretty good time. We were out for so long though that towards the end she was saying, “I want to go home” lol it was funny and cute. For dinner my grandma made a ham dinner with asparagus, beets and some other things with strawberry short cake for dessert. It was Pretty good. Everyone was so tired when we got home that the baby slept all night long!

I also distributed some more pictures to people I haven’t given any to yet and I got to see my friend Amanda who was visiting her grandma two houses away. The last time I seen her was a few days away from when I had the baby and she brought me a cake and gifts. She just got married and is expecting a baby of her own in July though, so I guess we both pretty much have lives of our own now! It’s still kind of weird to imagine that my childhood friend is now having her own baby, I never would have imagined.

Ham Dinner

March 22nd, 2008 >> Holidays

I made a ham last night for dinner with mashed potatoes, asparagus and some mixed vegetables. I decided to make it before Easter because my grandma is going to cook on Easter. Me and my daughter also colored some eggs and they came out really cute. She told me she was happy that we were coloring eggs lol

On Easter I’m going to hide them around for her and I bet she’ll have a good time with that. Not only that but I also have some Easter basket stuff for both kids. It’s gonna be really fun to see how excited they get.  I was also going to make some sugar cookies in bunny and chick shapes just for fun. She’s really good at doing things with me so I think I might make some today and give most of them away so we don’t end up eating dozens of cookies lol

My daughter is learning how to use the computer and she is actually very good at it too! We play little kid games together with her on my lap. They are mostly doll dress up games where there are many different outfits that you can put on a doll and do the makeup etc.. Well she used to just tell me what to put on the doll but she’s actually begun to use the mouse and do it herself! haha

Dyson Vacuums

A good vacuum plays a very important role in keeping a house clean. Everyone wants to keep their carpet looking good and avoid allergens from building up that could irritate their family. At 1awsomevac.com they have a variety of  Dyson vacuums including the Dyson DC17 which works excellent at keeping your carpet just the way you want it.

A close friend of mine uses that exact model when doing her routine vacuuming. She says that she has gone through many different types of vacuums over the years and that she has finally found the right one for her. Although this model is perfect for her, somebody else may have different needs. In order to see which vacuum would best fit your needs you should check out the 1awsomevac.com website and look at their chart that compares the different Dyson vacuums that they have.

Overall, Dyson is a powerful and excellent working vacuum. Not only do you get the quality that you want in a vacuum but you also get it at the price you want.

Introducing My Son to Beech Nut Peas and Carrots

Posted by: Fallon

March 19th, 2008 >> Children

I’ve given my son both peas and carrots now. No reaction so far.. I spaced them out about 3 days apart. First I tried peas and waited, now carrots. I’m not so sure he liked them at first and if you would’ve seen his face you would’ve wondered the same thing lol I’m using stage 1 of Beechnut right now and I honestly think the convenience of buying the jar foods is worth it. They are only about 45 cents and possibly cheaper at other places and during sales.

I’m choosing to give him vegetables before fruits so that he doesn’t get used to the sweetness of fruits and then does not want the vegetables. Well after a week of introducing him to these flavors he has begun to enjoy them more, or so it seems. He only eats about a half of a jar at a time or 1/3 of one and they are pretty tiny. I’m going to introduce him to a few more veggies like sweet potatoes and maybe green beans then move on to some fruits. He also still eats some baby cereal in the morning. He’s become such an expert at eating from a spoon now.

6 Months old today

March 19th, 2008 >> Children

My son is 6 months today, It’s amazing how much he’s grown! It sort of makes me sad that hes growing so quick because I miss him being so tiny but at the same time I am proud of what he’s becoming. What he is becoming is an extremely smart, cuddly and cute little boy. He can brighten up anyones day with his cute little smile.

He is going to crawl any day it seems. Even though he can’t exactly “crawl”, he still seems to find his way around perfectly on our living room floor. He scoots himself around and also gets on his hands and knees and sorta plops/leaps forward lol He’s very talkative and googly and loves to laugh. He can also sit for a short period while leaning forward and putting his hands onto the floor in order to hold himself up.

His 6 month check up is next Monday and although I always dread the shots for him I know it’ll be okay and I will be writing about how his check up goes later. I will also be writing about how he’s moved on to more solids.
