About two weeks ago we purchased a Cockatiel bird from a nearby pet store. Although pet store’s aren’t normally the best choice for a pet, due to the fact of animal farms and that they may not be used to human hands from sitting there so long.. I still believe that this little bird deserves a nice home. He’s settled in pretty good, loves eating and isn’t “too” friendly yet, but I can still hold him, he just pecks a bit and then gets over it.

I want to handle him more and more until he feels really comfortable. He lets me pet the back of his head and is already copying some short tunes that I whistle to him. My uncle had one that whistled the Andy Griffith theme song and it was pretty neat. I want to try and advance my bird to something like that as well. He isn’t hard to take care of at all and my daughter loves him! I’m still not too sure of a name yet but when I ask my daughter what his name should be, she says “birdy” haha I don’t know, I’m just going to think about it a little more.

The people in the pet store said that he is under a year.. that’s good, some Cockatiels can live up to 20 something years! Mine will probably end up living longer though.. my animals always live long. One of my cats is a little over 15!!!

Big ass fans anyone? Well the name surely caught my attention. At bigassfans.com you can purcahse a ceiling Fan that is between 6 and 24 feet in diameter, depending on what your needs are. With a fan as huge as this they use their size to move about large amounts of air and not their speed.

Although this type of fan may be more typical for small or large business rather than a home, it really caught my attention because summer is coming up soon and it has already begun to get hot here! I am sure there may be someone who would love this in their home if they didn’t happen to have central air conditioning. But anyways, there were some days about a week ago where it reached the 100’s! It sounds like it is going to be one hot summer and it really would be awful to be a customer walking around in a stuffy, hot environment.

When I’m a comfortable customer, I’m a happy customer! So check out their website and decide if this may be an investment you would like to make!

During the beginning of last week it was in the 100’s and so obviously it was very hot. Then when Wednesday rolled in it was cold, windy, raining and hailing! Our electricity got knocked out around 4 pm because one of the transformers got struck by lightning and so we didn’t have electricity until the next morning. It was unbelievable, you don’t realize how important electricity is until you don’t have it.

In addition to that we also didn’t have hot water that morning because for some reason there was a leak, but that wasn’t too bad, I barely noticed because it was fixed rather quickly.

On a more lighter note my little boy started to get a tooth in on the bottom about a week ago and now both bottom ones are actually popping in. My daughter started getting hers in around 6 months but that’s okay. He’s developing so quickly he just doesn’t have time for teeth haha There is no doubt in my mind that he is going to be walking before age 1. He will probably start around 10 months. He’s an expert at grabbing onto things and pulling up. He’s an expert climber (hence the gate at the bottom of my stairs), been an expert crawler forever and just has an adorable little personality. He is also getting more and more interested in the food we eat. He loves all of the veggies, fruits and cereals that I give him but he is still using his bottle. Although im introducing him to water in a sippy cup.

He plays little games with us and especially his sister, he loves peek-a-boo, being cuddled, being chased and chewing on stuff!

My daughter is a really quick learner and has many surprises in store everyday! Pretty soon she’ll be teaching me things hehe But anyways, she pretty much knows the whole alphabet now. She doesn’t know the order yet but when I point to a letter she can tell me exactly what it is. There are only about a maximum of 5 that she isn’t really sure about. She also confuses M with W sometimes.

Her daddy got her this little learning computer that tells you to find the different letters on the keyboard and then to click them. It’s funny to hear her playing with that thing and then hearing “excellent, P is for piano.” She does really well on that thing and it also teaches numbers and a lot of other things that you usually learn later in kindergarten.

My Mother’s Day went pretty well. My boyfriend got me an endearing card, a potted plant so it will last forever and a Mother’s Day balloon. We went over to my dad’s and watched our daughter have fun outside. She did some more chalk drawing on the drive way and rode her bike. She also did a lot of running around and telling people to come chase her lol I didn’t see my mom because she didn’t feel like coming out of the house but it doesn’t really matter. She said we could go over to her house but I didn’t want to do that.

My daughter is learning to ride her bike better and better.. she only has problems when she tries to ride uphill. But she has the whole idea down about left foot, right foot, left foot. But all in all it was a pretty enjoyable day. If anyone has any Mother’s Day stories to tell about, then leave me some comments about them!

I made some different colors of Jello with my daughter and it was really fun. She helped measure the water that we needed and helped stir the Jello packets into the water.

After we let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours we also made some different shapes and had Jello jigglers for dessert, yummy!

The National Finals Rodeo aka NFR is like the Super Bowl of Rodeo or the World Series of Rodeo, whichever you prefer! Each year it is held in Las Vegas, Nevada for 10 days and this year it is being held from December 4th to the 13th and every minute of it is worth watching according to many of my friends. They love the adrenaline rush they feel when routing for their favorite event or contestant. This year I will be making a very strong attempt at joining in the fun with the rest of my friends!

Many professional cowboys and cowgirls will be attending in order to determine the world champion for all of the main seven events! The NFR will also showcase talents for the top 15 money winners in each of the events while they compete for the world title!

If you happen to be looking for your own NFR Tickets then do it soon! Some of the awesome events they have include Bareback riding, Bull riding, Barrel Racing (which is exclusive to women), Team roping and more! This event is very popular and will sell out, so plan ahead if you are serious about going. Don’t forget to leave me some comments about your whole experience once the event is over!

My weekend went pretty well. I went over to my dad’s with the kids and my daughter had lots of fun. She drew all over his driveway with chalk hehe Luckily that stuff washes off because there was a lot. I was going to let her ride her bike over there but there wasn’t any room in the driveway at the time, so maybe next time.

My grandma has almost the entire Disney collection on VHS and they are just sitting at her house so we took some of them home. It’s kind of neat to watch them since it’s been so long since I have. I love them.
