Finally got a Good Picture of him Walking

We were finally able to get a pretty good picture of him in the midst of walking by himself. Not only does he walk back and fourth from mommy to daddy, but he also walks on his own now. It’s pretty cool to see him let go of whatever support he’s holding and then just start walking out. He’s going to be running soon! What a funny place for him to choose to start walking, right over his toys. I think he plopped down a few seconds after this picture was taken. I guess it is time to go get him his first pair of actual shoes!

Here’s some other picture on another day of him holding onto something while standing and smirking up a storm. He runs around in a diaper like that quite often on hot days like it has been! Last but not least here is another picture of him standing, with clothes on! These are actually some clothes we got him not that long ago, since kids grow so quickly I usually buy him size 12-18 months so he will fit in it longer but he still fits in 9-12 and even 6-9 surprisingly, but that runs a bit on the small size. Look at my growing boy!

Beautiful Grandfather Clocks

Posted by: Fallon

August 22nd, 2008 >> Arts and Humanities

I have always found myself intrigued by grandfather clocks because there are just so many that are very beautiful in many unique styles. I remember this very nice one that someone had while I was visiting and it has always stuck in my mind because of the nice feeling I got from it. I also loved the music that it would play at certain hours and I have contemplated possibly owning my own grandfather clock since then. Although it can be pretty tough to choose which clock I would like to invest in, I find myself falling in love with howard miller clocks the most. Many of the other types of clocks are really nice too but these just stand out to me more.

After browsing through the many, many different types of howard miller clocks I have decided that I like this Miller Majestic Grandfather Clock the best and that it would look just great in the hallway right outside of my bedroom. It would actually look great in many places but the hallways spot is my favorite. I love everything about this clock and especially the fact that is has six glass shelves where I can display all of my collectibles, adding to the beauty of it even more! Recently, I have also come across a blog that speaks just about grandfather clocks and it has inspired my need for one even more so mainly their post about if grandfather clocks could speak So if anyone else shares the same love for them that I have I would love for you to leave me comments about a clock that you own or even one that you would love to have, and also let me know what you think about the one that I want!

Iced Tea is very Delicious!

August 22nd, 2008 >> Health

Lately I have been drinking a lot of iced tea. It’s really good and also gives me the added energy that I need so much! It’s low on sugar (I only add a little for flavor) and also has antioxidants! I really enjoy tea much more when it is chilled than when it’s hot.. and I have been making it by the pitcher  so that I don’t need to make a cup every time that I want some.

I always knew that tea was good for you but I recently learned a lot more in depth about things it does for you including how it helps in aging, arthritis, allergies, bone strength, heart disease, cholesterol, cancer and even weight loss. Sounds awesome to me, I’m drinking something I like and I’m benefiting from it. I still refuse to give anything with caffeine in it to children but it might be okay to introduce to them when they are much older. I would consider decaffeinated tea but then I just learned that during the natural CO-2 process they use to decaffeinate the tea it actually loses like 90% of the cancer fighting properties that it has.

My Son’s First Steps

Posted by: Fallon

August 22nd, 2008 >> Children

Last night my boyfriend and I were practicing walking with our son and it was so cute. We would sit across from each other, a few feet apart and then one of us would stand him up while the other called and encouraged him to walk over. Sometimes he would get ahead of himself and fall over but many times he took several steps and actually reached the opposite parent! He can walk! He just needs more practice and balance so we are going to do this little exercise every night with him so that he develops more trust in himself.

Our daughter also helped too by calling him over and he would walk to her as well, but then her jealous side would act up and she’d be like “It’s my turn!” and she wanted to show us that she could walk as well haha. We got a few pictures of him standing and stepping but sometimes just as we would take the picture he would fall right over, but that always happens. Anytime we catch something cute happenning it is done before we ever have time to get the camera and snap the picture.

11 Months Old

My son turned 11 months old today, it seems like it was just yesterday that I had him. He certainly has changed a lot and although I thought he would be walking completely alone by now, he practically does. If something slides easily on the floor he pushes and walks with it and It’s pretty cute. He will also let go of whatever he is holding onto for a few seconds as he switches from holding onto the couch, to the table so I guess it is just a comfort thing. He also copies about every single thing we do, whether it is saying a certain sound, making a funny face or doing a certain action. He understands how things work easily and he turns our t.v. on and off and then stares back at us like, “Yeah I just did that.” One of his favorite things is rolling on pillows and blankets that are on the floor, sometimes he will fall asleep next to me like that if I’m just relaxing on the floor.

He certainly does have an adorable personality and is pretty sure of himself. Being that he has an older sister who takes every toy he gets his hands on he’s also a bit defensive and expresses it well haha I’m sure he will look up to her when he gets older but right now it seems like he just wants his own space. He plays a lot calmer and happily when he is all by himself but there are the occasional times where he wants to jump on and hug his sister, he’s such a cutie. He’s still got the same two teeth and I’m starting to wonder where the rest are haha I’m going to be introducing him to whole milk in the next month, even though he’s eaten many of our foods it still doesn’t seem like enough so he still needs the formula.
