Going to the zoo with the children is so much fun, especially since my daughter is at the age where she happens to be very attentive. She really liked to observe all of the animals and my son seemed to be having a good time too. We were able to go through pretty much the entire zoo in a few hours, it was a lot of walking but it was still nice. They have this new Gorillas habitat that is so awesome, they were so much fun to watch. It was a female, a male and their little baby.
They are also currently building a new habitat for some Elephants, so next time that we go back I hope to see them there. I would really love to go to the San Diego Zoo, I hear it is really huge and nice, it is pretty much so big I think you have to take a tram through the place. I’ve also started to think a lot about other fun places to go, exotic places and new places. You can find CheapCaribbean coupons at FindSavings.com, so that really gets me pondering about a Caribbean trip and other places I can find savings on.
I took my son to a barbershop for children yesterday, I searched online for a local place for children because I thought the barbers there would have more experience with children and he would get a better cut plus they had tons of fun things to do like play with toys, watch shows and play games while waiting and getting their hair cut. I suppose the whole experience was pretty cool but I actually didn’t think the woman cutting their hair was that great and didn’t seem too enthusiastic with children like I had expected.
I’m sure some other person who works there could be better but I probably wont be going back because it was actually more expensive than a regular place also. But it’s nice to remember as a first haircut experience. I actually thought my son looked pretty cute with his long hair but it was getting very long and in his eyes and stuff so I think he was due for a cut and I think his new style looks pretty cute also, he looks a lot different! My daughter just got a little trim, I didn’t want to leave her out of the experience. She has pretty cute hair herself, I really love how her hair likes to curl a lot on the bottom. I guess I will try to find the time to post up some before and after pictures of my sons haircut soon! Here is a link to the salon’s website if anyone wants to check them out. http://coolcuts4kids.com/
Here are the before and after photos! I think it is a huge difference.

Well I haven’t written in here for a while, I have no posts for November at all! I’ve just been busy with projects and other things as I have said in the past. I really meant to get on here and write about how our Halloween went and post up some adorable pictures of the kids. I will probably post a few pictures later but their Halloween was really fun! We carved a cool looking pumpkin and baked the seeds. We went trick or treating for about an hour.. and then we were all tired and came home, besides we got plenty of candy from that short trip anyways.
My daughter enjoyed saying “trick or treat” at the doors and felt really proud of the candy she earned. Of course the second we got home I had to go and check each piece to make sure it looked safe and then monitor her intake = ) As we all know, most parents help with the intake part anyways hehe My son wasn’t too sure what was going on but he looked cute in his little pumpkin outfit and enjoyed looking around..
Last time I wrote I also mentioned my daughter needed to get her flu shot still and she did but she wasn’t happy about it at all! This was the first time where she actually started to scream before they even touched her with it. It made me feel bad and I’m not looking forward to any future shots but I will just have to give her a pep talk the next time so she’s more comfortable..
I know there are many different opinions about the flu shot and whether it is necessary or not but I think it is important for young children. I think it is even more important if there is a history of asthma in the family because there are so many illnesses of pnuemonia that are caused from the flu virus every year. Neither one of my children show any signs of asthma and my daughter is 3 so hopefully it would have showed up by now if she was going to be affected and it hasn’t so I am glad for that.
My son had his appointment yesterday and got his flu shot, it was really quick and he only whined for a second and that was it. My daughter still needs to go and get hers so I will be taking her soon as well. I hate for them to get poked by needles and I worry about possible side effects, etc.. but I just feel that it is in their best interest. I think the flu shot is recommended up until age 5 but then wont they be more likely to get the flu once they start school? Hmmmm.. It is okay for anyone to get one but the young and elderly just need them more so maybe they will continue through their school age years as well.
I have spoken a lot about what I have wanted to dress my children up as for Halloween but there are just so many Childrens Costumes that my feelings have changed. My children love Halloween and to look at all of the awesome decorations and especially dressing up and going out to get some candy. Another part of Halloween that is really fun to them is the pumpkin carving and baking Halloween cookies/cakes. I want this to be a really memorable Holiday and for them to enjoy it as well as get some great pictures out of it.
There areĀ so many different Halloween Costume Stores out there that it can be a struggle to find the right place to shop. At HalloweenAdventure.com you can find such a wide variety of costumes that everyone is sure to find exactly what they want and for their specific budget as well. That way you can find something for everyone at one easy place. I have my childrens costumes already and my daughter is going to be a cute little angel with wings and a halo while my son is going to wear a nice warm pumpkin costume. I hope everyone has a great Halloween and posts comments about their own Halloween experiences!
We were shopping the other day and browsing the toy aisles and decided to let my daughter choose a new toy. She looked at a bunch of toys but decided to get this cute Little People toy, Mia and her on-the-go grooming. It is just a little play pretend set that allows her to groom and take care of two pets. I was shocked at how much she actually enjoyed this toy when we got home. She wanted to play on her own and I could hear her talking, she has a really good imagination. I guess this is the type of toy she needs, they had other Little People sets like Sunny Day Picnic and Polar Animals.
I’ll probably be getting her some more of these little sets in the future since she seems to like it so much but for now she is content with just this one!
I was just looking at some pictures and videos we made at the park yesterday. It was so much fun to watch my son walk around in the grass because he looked so proud while doing so.. he would walk a bit and then pick up a leaf, then walk some more and pick up another. At one point he had about 10 different leaves in his hand. We decided to go yesterday after his appointment and I’m glad that we did.
I told my daughter that next time we go we will bring kites because she mentioned kites. She had a lot of fun too, running around with her brother and playing on all of the slides and stuff. We actually go to the park pretty often but my son has only been walking on his own for about a month now so this was the first time he actually got to run around at the park on his own. We usually just slide down the slides with him on our lap (which we can still do) but anyways, it was just really fun and I want to go back soon!
