Trip to the Los Angeles County Zoo

March 11th, 2009 >> Animals/Pets, Children, Fun, Recreation and Sports

Going to the zoo with the children is so much fun, especially since my daughter is at the age where she happens to be very attentive. She really liked to observe all of the animals and my son seemed to be having a good time too. We were able to go through pretty much the entire zoo in a few hours, it was a lot of walking but it was still nice. They have this new Gorillas habitat that is so awesome, they were so much fun to watch. It was a female, a male and their little baby.

They are also currently building a new habitat for some Elephants, so next time that we go back I hope to see them there. I would really love to go to the San Diego Zoo, I hear it is really huge and nice, it is pretty much so big I think you have to take a tram through the place. I’ve also started to think a lot about other fun places to go, exotic places and new places. You can find CheapCaribbean coupons at FindSavings.com, so that really gets me pondering about a Caribbean trip and other places I can find savings on.

We went to the Santa Monica beach last week and had so much fun! It isn’t exactly Summer weather yet, but it was sunny enough with a slight wind chill. It wasn’t all that crowded either so there was tons of room for the kids to play in the sand. Playing in the sand is their most favorite part of being at the beach and of course their father built a lovely sand castle as well.

My daughter enjoyed the water as well but it was pretty cold, so of course we only got in to our ankles. I wouldn’t mind going to the beach more often since it is such a nice atmosphere. My son had so much fun in the sand it was unbelievable and he only tried tasting the sand once i assure you haha and then after that it was all about the shovel. He also took a liking to the local sea gulls and had fun chasing after those for a while and also gave me a workout hehe Fun times!

Well I haven’t written in here for a while, I have no posts for November at all! I’ve just been busy with projects and other things as I have said in the past. I really meant to get on here and write about how our Halloween went and post up some adorable pictures of the kids. I will probably post a few pictures later but their Halloween was really fun! We carved a cool looking pumpkin and baked the seeds. We went trick or treating for about an hour.. and then we were all tired and came home, besides we got plenty of candy from that short trip anyways.

My daughter enjoyed saying “trick or treat” at the doors and felt really proud of the candy she earned. Of course the second we got home I had to go and check each piece to make sure it looked safe and then monitor her intake = ) As we all know, most parents help with the intake part anyways hehe My son wasn’t too sure what was going on but he looked cute in his little pumpkin outfit and enjoyed looking around..

Last time I wrote I also mentioned my daughter needed to get her flu shot still and she did but she wasn’t happy about it at all! This was the first time where she actually started to scream before they even touched her with it. It made me feel bad and I’m not looking forward to any future shots but I will just have to give her a pep talk the next time so she’s more comfortable..

Exciting Day at the Park

September 25th, 2008 >> Children, Fun, Life

I was just looking at some pictures and videos we made at the park yesterday. It was so much fun to watch my son walk around in the grass because he looked so proud while doing so.. he would walk a bit and then pick up a leaf, then walk some more and pick up another. At one point he had about 10 different leaves in his hand. We decided to go yesterday after his appointment and I’m glad that we did.

I told my daughter that next time we go we will bring kites because she mentioned kites. She had a lot of fun too, running around with her brother and playing on all of the slides and stuff. We actually go to the park pretty often but my son has only been walking on his own for about a month now so this was the first time he actually got to run around at the park on his own. We usually just slide down the slides with him on our lap (which we can still do) but anyways, it was just really fun and I want to go back soon!

This Past Weekend

September 23rd, 2008 >> Fun, Life

I didn’t go over my dad’s house for a few weeks because of everything that has been going on but I just went this past weekend and it was pretty fun. The kids played outside and I washed my car and just relaxed outside. My grandma was gone though, she is going to be gone this whole week because she just went on a vacation to stay with her club at some all inclusive hotel near Mexico or something. That wouldn’t be my pick for a place to vacation but they go all sorts of places.

My dad also had a bunch of stuff for me, it seems like whenever I go over there he has things to give me because he either has too much of something or just wont use it. Things like spaghetti noodles and other random things, sometimes my grandma will pick up some odd thing for me while she is out shopping and I end up weith some weird things lol It was fun over there and my son was even walking around outside, it was so cute! My daughter  helped me wash the car and just played in the water and got soaking wet! It was hot though so it was okay.
