I have known Amanda since before I even started school. Our parents grew up together as well. I remember playing Barbies, Hide ‘N Seek and other fun games when we were kids and now she is going to have her own baby tomorrow. I never imagined her with a baby and it’s kind of weird for me, I am sure it was weird for other people when I started having my kids too. I’m really happy for her but at the same time I am worried too. She was planning on going natural but her doctor told her that she was going to be having a pretty big baby, like around 10 pounds and so now she is having a c-section.

I’m sure everything is going to go fine and she’s going to have a cute little baby to make her happy. Her little boy’s name is going to be Logan Kenneth and I can’t wait to see him! When she found out about her c-section recently, she began asking me lots of questions about how mine went. This is very understandable because that’s exactly how I was, I wanted to know everything about how it was going to be. She is pretty nervous but I’ve assured her that everything should go fine. Congratulations Amanda!

My brother Cory just recently graduated from High School and I am pretty proud of him. I knew that he was going to do it, and he did. This is his first step towards becoming an adult and doing what he wants with his life. The graduation was pretty nice and organized, everyone was able to keep their caps and gowns because they were able to buy them and I thought that was kind of neat. All of the guys wore blue and the girls wore white. Most of our closest relatives went and then we had cake afterward.

He has some goals as to what he wants to do, like college and stuff so that is good. He says that he wants to start this summer and that’s even better, I’m sure he is going to do just fine. I think there are a few different things that he wants to do, that can be tough sometimes.. choosing what you want to do most. I’m sure college is much more fun than just High School though, seems like there is more freedom and variety.

During the beginning of last week it was in the 100’s and so obviously it was very hot. Then when Wednesday rolled in it was cold, windy, raining and hailing! Our electricity got knocked out around 4 pm because one of the transformers got struck by lightning and so we didn’t have electricity until the next morning. It was unbelievable, you don’t realize how important electricity is until you don’t have it.

In addition to that we also didn’t have hot water that morning because for some reason there was a leak, but that wasn’t too bad, I barely noticed because it was fixed rather quickly.

On a more lighter note my little boy started to get a tooth in on the bottom about a week ago and now both bottom ones are actually popping in. My daughter started getting hers in around 6 months but that’s okay. He’s developing so quickly he just doesn’t have time for teeth haha There is no doubt in my mind that he is going to be walking before age 1. He will probably start around 10 months. He’s an expert at grabbing onto things and pulling up. He’s an expert climber (hence the gate at the bottom of my stairs), been an expert crawler forever and just has an adorable little personality. He is also getting more and more interested in the food we eat. He loves all of the veggies, fruits and cereals that I give him but he is still using his bottle. Although im introducing him to water in a sippy cup.

He plays little games with us and especially his sister, he loves peek-a-boo, being cuddled, being chased and chewing on stuff!

My weekend went pretty well. I went over to my dad’s with the kids and my daughter had lots of fun. She drew all over his driveway with chalk hehe Luckily that stuff washes off because there was a lot. I was going to let her ride her bike over there but there wasn’t any room in the driveway at the time, so maybe next time.

My grandma has almost the entire Disney collection on VHS and they are just sitting at her house so we took some of them home. It’s kind of neat to watch them since it’s been so long since I have. I love them.

Well it’s only Spring but it has been pretty hot. It isn’t totally unbearable yet but when it starts getting even hotter we may feel the need to use the air conditioning! We used it all summer last year and it forced our electric bill to be 100 dollars extra than usual each month! Yikes, that’s a lot, so we decided to invest in two extra fans as an alternative. They actually do make a difference too and it will cost much less. We have a stand up, rotating one for downstairs and two smaller ones for each of the rooms upstairs. We also have a ceiling fan in the kitchen.

So yeah, we were using them today and the house feels nice. I guess we are set for the summer.

Well last Thursday I took my son in to his doctors and got him his second flu shot, although it is late it will still protect him from pneumonia if he so happens to get the flu sometime, even though it’s unlikely. While at the office he also received two other shots that he wasn’t given at his last appointment because they were just out of them but apparently they were available again. That is one thing that i don’t like about his doctor’s office is that it is a very popular network of doctors that people use and so they may be out of things temporarily. My daughter’s doctor is more of a private place and that has not happened before but I stick with their separate doctors because those were the ones who checked on them at birth in the hospital, they have all of their records since birth and both seem like they know what they are doing.

On Saturday I went to my friend’s, son’s first birthday. It was at the park near me and it was very hot out. We sat around for like an hour and they didn’t seem to be doing anything such as the cake or presents so we just decided to leave as my daughter got quite fidgety, she didn’t want to leave when we left though and I felt bad. We just got done swimming out at the pool today though and she really seemed to enjoy that. The earlier she learns to swim the better. We got out when the pool cleaning guy came though, although I think it’d be better if he serviced the pool early in the morning.

Even after a day of absorbing it, this news article is still pretty shocking to me. I’ve never really thought about the possibility of this and it’s been happening for so long! I cannot believe that there are pharmaceuticals in our drinking water.

Well I hope everyone remembered to set their clocks ahead an hour, I sure did! It always feels kind of nice when the time changes, sort of like a new start. It kind of sets the pace for a new and better schedule, at least for me it does.

We went to the mall the other day and got some pictures taken with the bunny for Easter. The kids came out pretty cute except my son wasn’t smiling since he just woke up from a nap lol. I still love the pics. It’s also almost time for us to go pick up the pictures we got taken a few weeks ago, I’m real excited about that. I’ve just wanted to get more pictures to put up since almost everything I have is just on my computer..

Spring is just around the corner and it’s kind of exciting. A new season!

We have been getting notices in the mail for about 2 months now from our Toyota dealer saying that we are due for a 5k mile maintenance. The thing is that we hardly have any miles on the car, barely 1k, so we have been holding off on going. It’s been about six months though and the factory suggests 5k miles or 6 months, whichever comes first, so we just went today.

It wasn’t a bad experience, it actually went pretty smooth and didn’t take long at all. We just hung out indoors and got Starbucks. While we waited, my daughter played in the little kid area. We also were given a pager so that they could let us know right when it was ready, and they included a free car wash. Since we haven’t driven very many miles, they left out some unnecessary things and it didn’t cost much.

We haven’t gone to the dealer since we bought the car and on our way their we sort of passed it and then got lost. I looked back and seen the sign and said “It’s right back there, I see the sign.” The driver kept on driving though, insisting “No, It’s on this street.” Lol Oh well, by the time the driver went to turn around we got all mixed up in different streets…But hey, we put some more miles on the car! hah

On Thursday night my daughter woke up with a sore throat and couldn’t sleep well. None of us have been sick in a while but this morning me and my son woke up feeling symptoms also. I just have a slight sore throat, it feels more irritated than anything and doesn’t really bother me too much. My son has a stuffy nose but doesn’t seem to have the sore throat.

My daughter is feeling better though, still stuffy and has a hoarse voice but she doesn’t seem as miserable anymore. This is the first time we’ve been sick all winter and hopefully the last time we will be sick for a while.

When my daughter was having trouble sleeping I gave her some toddler Tylenol and it actually seemed to make her throat feel better and helped her fever also. Well I’m just glad she’s feeling better.
