Just Some News

There still has not been any more rain since the other day, I think the whether has pretty much stabilized for this time of year now. Although it can be pretty hot outside at times, the inside of our house stays pretty cool. It is positioned in a way so that the sun does not blare inside all day, plus when we keep all blinds closed it keeps it pretty shady.

Our little boy is beginning to keep his balance better each day. There are times when he is standing up and he will let go for a second and still continue to stand. I am sure he will be taking his first steps next month. I know I’m in store for some pretty fun times with the two of them, they already have disputes over toys. The baby gets upset when his sister attempts to take a toy from him. They keep me busy and I love them.

My dad had one of his older friends living with him for the past few years but on Wednesday he just flew to Omaha, NE. His daughter, aunts and grand children live out there so I think he is going to be visiting for a while and perhaps not even coming back.

My dad said that he misses him but at the same time is glad to have an extra room and more space. My brother took over his old room and my dad is now going to turn my brother’s old room into a den. My dad seems pretty happy about this whole new change, so that is good. I visited for a bit today. My daughter loves playing over there because she gets to swim in her little kiddy pool we have for her in the front yard. She just loves doing anything outside really… and it’s fun to sit on the porch and watch her.

The guy also left his guppies which he has a bunch of!!!!! There are even babies in there cause they are breeding! They all look happy and stuff though, so that’s cool. Whats boring is that they all have orange tails.

My grandma just got back from Big Bear Mountain today.. she was gone since Friday with her Corvette club. Sounds pretty fun. I have gone up there in the past and loved it.

That’s about it for my weekend. No rain today so far, only last night.

Rain in July

July 13th, 2008 >> Life

Rain in July? Wow this is weird.. I don’t think it’s rained in July in years! It’s lik71 degrees and raining..but during the day it is like 80 or 90. This weather is really reminding me how much I hate humidity. I can stand many types of weather but when it comes to humidity, oh my.. which is one of the many other reasons why I don’t like NY. I had many uncomfortable weather experiences there. It is just nasty. It is never humid here in Los Angeles.. but mix rain with hot weather, not good! There is also supposed to be some more thunderstorms tonight.

I love the rain though.. so it is kind of neat to have around right now.

Our 4th of July

July 5th, 2008 >> Life

Our 4th of July went pretty well this year. We hung out together during the day and I had made chicken, potato salad, deviled eggs and other good food. So we enjoyed that and spent time together. Then a little bit later we got ready and went over to my dads. Our daughter swam in her little pool and we ate watermelon that I brought plus there was some other good things to eat there as well. Once it was dark enough to see fireworks we started lighting some of the ones that we had bought. The kids really enjoyed watching them, even our little boy.

Fireworks aren’t legal in our neighborhood but at my dads it was. Not only were we able to see the ones that we were lighting but we got to see a lot of beautiful fireworks in the sky around us. It was pretty fun. After a while our kids started to get grouchy and wanted to go home, so we said our goodbyes and then home we went!

Not very great pictures of fireworks but it catches the life of the party.

My Friend Amanda

June 23rd, 2008 >> Life

I have known Amanda since before I even started school. Our parents grew up together as well. I remember playing Barbies, Hide ‘N Seek and other fun games when we were kids and now she is going to have her own baby tomorrow. I never imagined her with a baby and it’s kind of weird for me, I am sure it was weird for other people when I started having my kids too. I’m really happy for her but at the same time I am worried too. She was planning on going natural but her doctor told her that she was going to be having a pretty big baby, like around 10 pounds and so now she is having a c-section.

I’m sure everything is going to go fine and she’s going to have a cute little baby to make her happy. Her little boy’s name is going to be Logan Kenneth and I can’t wait to see him! When she found out about her c-section recently, she began asking me lots of questions about how mine went. This is very understandable because that’s exactly how I was, I wanted to know everything about how it was going to be. She is pretty nervous but I’ve assured her that everything should go fine. Congratulations Amanda!

My Brother’s High School Graduation

Posted by: Fallon

June 12th, 2008 >> Life

My brother Cory just recently graduated from High School and I am pretty proud of him. I knew that he was going to do it, and he did. This is his first step towards becoming an adult and doing what he wants with his life. The graduation was pretty nice and organized, everyone was able to keep their caps and gowns because they were able to buy them and I thought that was kind of neat. All of the guys wore blue and the girls wore white. Most of our closest relatives went and then we had cake afterward.

He has some goals as to what he wants to do, like college and stuff so that is good. He says that he wants to start this summer and that’s even better, I’m sure he is going to do just fine. I think there are a few different things that he wants to do, that can be tough sometimes.. choosing what you want to do most. I’m sure college is much more fun than just High School though, seems like there is more freedom and variety.

Stranger Weather and Problems with Electricty plus My son Getting his First Teeth In

Posted by: Fallon

May 25th, 2008 >> Children, Life

During the beginning of last week it was in the 100’s and so obviously it was very hot. Then when Wednesday rolled in it was cold, windy, raining and hailing! Our electricity got knocked out around 4 pm because one of the transformers got struck by lightning and so we didn’t have electricity until the next morning. It was unbelievable, you don’t realize how important electricity is until you don’t have it.

In addition to that we also didn’t have hot water that morning because for some reason there was a leak, but that wasn’t too bad, I barely noticed because it was fixed rather quickly.

On a more lighter note my little boy started to get a tooth in on the bottom about a week ago and now both bottom ones are actually popping in. My daughter started getting hers in around 6 months but that’s okay. He’s developing so quickly he just doesn’t have time for teeth haha There is no doubt in my mind that he is going to be walking before age 1. He will probably start around 10 months. He’s an expert at grabbing onto things and pulling up. He’s an expert climber (hence the gate at the bottom of my stairs), been an expert crawler forever and just has an adorable little personality. He is also getting more and more interested in the food we eat. He loves all of the veggies, fruits and cereals that I give him but he is still using his bottle. Although im introducing him to water in a sippy cup.

He plays little games with us and especially his sister, he loves peek-a-boo, being cuddled, being chased and chewing on stuff!
