My grandma’s birthday was on the 14th. I didn’t even know until I got a call from my dad. I never really know or remember because I don’t think she likes to make a big deal about it and I’m sure that’s because once you get past a certain age.. getting older isn’t very fun. Well at least my dad remembered and he said Happy Birthday to her, I also called her that night and gave my wishes as well and then had a short conversation.
When my dad called he had said he wanted to have a little barbeque for her the next day, it was kind of short notice but he also asked me to bake a cake for her. I like baking cakes for people, it can be pretty fun and they are yummy. I had to convince my fiance to go to the store with me.. since I really hate driving the truck that we have(we’re in the process of getting something better though). I went to the store and picked up a few cake packages and some frosting since it was all on sale.. I would’ve made one from scratch but like I said it was short notice.. anything from scratch is usually better though I think.
I chose to make a chocolate cake for her.. I usually don’t like chocolate very much but it just seemed good. We decorated it brightly and I think it came out pretty well. It tasted good too! So we went over on Sunday and went swimming for most of the day, my grandma got my daughter this cute bathing suit with a built in floating thing and also got her a life jacket. My dad made chicken and ribs and there was rice, salad and some vegetables ..chips too of course, bleh. It was a pretty long day but I think my daughter enjoyed swimming in the pool. I want her to learn how to swim as soon as possible, I’ll feel a lot better when she does because then she’ll be even safer. My fiance recently wanted to learn CPR as well, just to be on the safe side.
An old friend of my dad’s was also there, he’s in his 60’s and mostly nice. He’s lived with my dad before but then went to live with a lady friend. I guess they haven’t been getting along very well lately so he’s staying with my dad again for a bit. My dad is too nice to turn him away and plus he’s known him for a really long time and it gives my dad someone to talk to.
Well 4th of July was alright. Our plans were to go over to my dads to swim and eat and light fireworks when it got dark enough. We were going to go see a firework show at a park also but decided not too since we’d need to get there super early to get a good spot, so we just got extra fireworks of our own. Before we went over to my dads we stopped off at the store to get me a new bathing suit. I hadn’t gone swimming in such a long time that I didn’t even have one.
We got to my dads around 3 30 and my daughter immediately wanted to go into her little kid pool. She had lots of fun in there and I also got lots of pictures. When I went into the bigger pool in the backyard with her she got a little cranky. She finally calmed down once we all started eating. There was chicken, beans, pasta salad and some other little things. We started lighting fireworks around 8:30 pm or so.. My mom also had some fireworks of her own, so we lit those first and my daughter was pretty scared. She was mostly scared because they were so loud. Towards the end we were lighting off ones that were more quiet and she kinda calmed down and watched them. I would say “Ohh look at the pretty colors.” Well obviously after such a long day she was pretty tired when we got home.
A downside about the 4th of July was that my daughter had just started to get a little sick. The day before the 4th I had noticed her voice sounded really hoarse and then 4th of July night she couldn’t seem to stay asleep and kept waking up as if something were hurting her. We took her to the doctors on the 5th and her doctor said that she didn’t need any antibiotics, that it was probably some sort of virus and would go away on it’s own. He checked her throat and ears and her temp, all was normal but she still seemed like something was really bothering her. It hurts her to eat so she hasn’t had much of an appetite for the past 2 days. I’ve just been really worried about the whole thing, I hate when she is sick! I’m hoping she improves soon or I will be taking her back so they can take a second look.
So I just got done writing a pretty long blog about a website I use and it disappeared right when I published it. Pretty disappointing really. It went something like:
When I am bored and am enjoying time to myself I like to find some interesting websites online. Sometimes I just want to find something worth reading and other times I like doing something more interactive. I recently found a game website that I really enjoy. It really is surprising since I am not much of a game person! I especially don’t like gore/shooting action type games. They do have that type but they also have puzzle and strategy games. I’m really glad that I found it because I love puzzles and strategy! The site is laid out really well which makes it pretty easy to browse. They have pages and pages of games.
If you like other games such as RPG, shooting, arcade, adventure, action, sports venusarcade has those games as well. It’s hard to choose but I think my favorite game at the website would have to be Link Fest It may be really simple but I just can’t seem to quit playing it. I recommend it to anyone else who likes a good puzzle game. You can also rate the games that you play and they seem to have a poll as well. It hasn’t changed since I’ve gone there during the past few days but I’m interested to see what type of other polls they are going to have. According to the poll this lay out is new, looks very good to me.
So anyways, this is my blog for tonight dedicated to anyone who may be bored and is open to fair suggestions!
