Trip to the Los Angeles County Zoo

Going to the zoo with the children is so much fun, especially since my daughter is at the age where she happens to be very attentive. She really liked to observe all of the animals and my son seemed to be having a good time too. We were able to go through pretty much the entire zoo in a few hours, it was a lot of walking but it was still nice. They have this new Gorillas habitat that is so awesome, they were so much fun to watch. It was a female, a male and their little baby.

They are also currently building a new habitat for some Elephants, so next time that we go back I hope to see them there. I would really love to go to the San Diego Zoo, I hear it is really huge and nice, it is pretty much so big I think you have to take a tram through the place. I’ve also started to think a lot about other fun places to go, exotic places and new places. Fun at the Santa Monica Beach

We went to the Santa Monica beach last week and had so much fun! It isn’t exactly Summer weather yet, but it was sunny enough with a slight wind chill. It wasn’t all that crowded either so there was tons of room for the kids to play in the sand. Playing in the sand is their most favorite part of being at the beach and of course their father built a lovely sand castle as well.

My daughter enjoyed the water as well but it was pretty cold, so of course we only got in to our ankles. I wouldn’t mind going to the beach more often since it is such a nice atmosphere. My son had so much fun in the sand it was unbelievable and he only tried tasting the sand once i assure you haha and then after that it was all about the shovel. He also took a liking to the local sea gulls and had fun chasing after those for a while and also gave me a workout hehe Fun times!

Our Beloved Pets

As most of us pet owners know and feel, our pets are part of our family and just like we want the rest of our family to be taken care of we also want our beloved pets to be treated the same way and get the same health care services that we get. A list of the different patients that they serve include: dogs, reptiles, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, ferrets, rats, hamsters, gerbils, mice, iguanas and turtles. That seems to cover pretty much all of the household type of pets that most of us tend to have so if you aren’t happy with the health services your pet has been receiving and if you would rather go somewhere with a really friendly atmosphere where you feel like your pet is being treated as a priority then I recommend visiting their facility. American Animal Care Center has also been providing service to the Bay Area and Fremont for over 22 years. Start getting the care for your pets that you know they need and deserve! First Haircut

I took my son to a barbershop for children yesterday, I searched online for a local place for children because I thought the barbers there would have more experience with children and he would get a better cut plus they had tons of fun things to do like play with toys, watch shows and play games while waiting and getting their hair cut. I suppose the whole experience was pretty cool but I actually didn’t think the woman cutting their hair was that great and didn’t seem too enthusiastic with children like I had expected.

I’m sure some other person who works there could be better but I probably wont be going back because it was actually more expensive than a regular place also. But it’s nice to remember as a first haircut experience. I actually thought my son looked pretty cute with his long hair but it was getting very long and in his eyes and stuff so I think he was due for a cut and I think his new style looks pretty cute also, he looks a lot different! My daughter just got a little trim, I didn’t want to leave her out of the experience. She has pretty cute hair herself, I really love how her hair likes to curl a lot on the bottom. I guess I will try to find the time to post up some before and after pictures of my sons haircut soon! Sleeping Soundly

I think it is really important that we all get a good night’s sleep and part of sleeping well includes being able to lay in a comfortable bed. In this day and time we all have pretty busy schedules and don’t get the recommended amount of sleep that we need, so we may as well make the most of the rest that we do get and sleep comfortably! I have slept in some pretty uncomfortable beds in the past but I recently sleep pretty well, and the bed does make a difference!

Winter Sickness

I have been sick for a little over a week now, it started out with a really sore throat and fever and then I lost my voice. I am so glad that my voice is almost all the way back to how it normally is. Right now I still have an irritated and itchy throat with a cough but I feel a lot better. The kids did not get as sick as me at all, towards the end of my sickness they picked up a slight cough.. and their father doesn’t seem to have any symptoms at all.

I’m thinking this was a case of the flu and that is why the children did not become as sick as I did (since they got their flu shots) because that is the only explanation I can come up with. I am just glad that it is almost over with and I need to try and keep myself warmer at night.

Update on my Health

A few weeks ago I suddenly wasn’t able to hear too well out of my right ear. I thought it was extremely strange and aggravating but I waited it out a few days before going into the doctors and finding out what it could be. I thought it would go away because I never had anything like this happen when I didn’t even have a cold.

When I went in I found out that I had some water behind my ear drum which made sense because it really sounded like I was listening to things from under water, so annoying. She gave me some amoxicillin and nasal decongestants even though I didn’t feel stuffy but she said that could help dry out the fluid in my ear and prevent more from dripping back. Then she said if it wasn’t better in a week I should see my regular doctor because she was just an on call doctor in the urgent care area of the building and it can take up to two weeks to be seen by your normal doctor when you make an appointment.

Well luckily after about 2 or 3 days of taking everything I started to feel a lot better and boy was I relieved to have my hearing back! I guess a little infection started in my Eustachian tube because it was not functioning right and so fluid got trapped. It’s mostly common in children but I had lots of ear problems as a child and it can be caused from other things such as allergy or other irritants..

I have an appointment for a physical this Wednesday though. I hate going but it is good to go and get a full check up, blah!
